Laura L. Freeman, Ph.D. joined Schnuck Markets, Inc. in February 2016 as Chief People Officer, leading the human resources area which includes HR services for all 15,000+ teammates. Laura is a member of the company’s senior management team, reporting directly to Todd Schnuck, chairman and CEO. Laura came to Schnucks with more than 30 years of experience in human resources, talent management, total rewards, and organizational development from her work with Fortune 500 companies. Prior to joining Schnucks, Laura spent the majority of her career in retail and service organizations, ServiceMaster, Wendy’s, and Carlson Companies with HR responsibilities domestically and internationally. As a true HR professional and inspirational leader, Laura not only listens to teammates’ ideas and concerns; she insists on spending time working in the stores alongside these teammates to see their challenges first-hand and address them in a way that works, from both an operational and human perspective. Laura holds a Ph.D. in Industrial/Organizational Psychology.

Laura is committed to the communities in which she lives. Currently, Laura is an adjunct professor at Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri in their MBA program. In addition, she is a Board member with the Boys & Girls Club of St Louis, and a United Way Leadership Sponsor.
